Sustainable Living and Leadership Series launched by three land-grant universities
Multi-topic series explores sustainability actions for home and community.
Do you have an interest in sustainability but you’re not sure where to start? Are you interested in learning ways to grow your leadership skills and expand your strategies to live more sustainably? If so, then consider attending the Sustainable Living & Leadership Series.
This multi-topic series is designed and hosted by Extension services at Purdue University, Michigan State University, and the University of Florida. Together, experts from all three institutions will provide attendees with a plethora of knowledge and examples to help strengthen critical thinking skills for future decision making and actions around sustainability. Series topics will include sustainability 101, energy, water, and food, and will explore how these interconnected systems function together and independently.
Attendees will also explore consumerism, economics, and 21st century trends impacting both. Each topic is delivered in module form and will explore trends, statistics, actions, and how leaders in sustainability are making a difference in our world. As an overarching theme, leadership will be woven throughout each module allowing attendees to gain a deeper understanding of global-to-local movements by leaders responsible for moving sustainability forward. Through the leadership aspect of this series, participants will discover ways to take action to reduce their ecological footprint and make a positive impact in their personal and professional life.
This series is completely ONLINE and will be offered every Tuesday from 6:15 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The class will take place Feb. 23, March 9, 23; April 6, 20; and May 4, 18.
