Learn about available tools and resources for entrepreneurs

Save the date (Oct 4-5, 2017) for the annual state-wide Michigan State University Extension Connecting Entrepreneurial Communities (CEC) Conference this year in Howell.

Join other like-minded community leaders as we learn new programs and resources, share best practices and ideas, empower ourselves and others to assist entrepreneurs, and grow our local communities at the annual Connecting Entrepreneurial Communities (CEC) Conference, hosted by Michigan State University Extension.

The conference offers interesting keynote speakers and has over 25 different breakout sessions to choose from. Held annually in early October, the CEC conference moves around the state allowing participants to experience a new community and meet new friends, make new contacts and learn new ideas.

Our unique approach actually embeds the conference in the local community. Breakout sessions are held in local businesses among the daily hustle and bustle of these thriving communities to allow participants to learn, and more importantly, see, feel and taste the community.

Assemble a team of several key community members to participate and sustain the enthusiasm gained from this event. Teams could be made up of representatives of local government, business community (Chamber of Commerce, DDA, Main Street, etc.,) education, economic/community development (EDO, EDC, Community Foundation,) interested citizens, etc. After the conference, be sure your team continues to meet and share the ideas learned and look at implementing them back home.

Visit the CEC website to stay up-to-date on the latest CEC news and information, or you can check us out on Facebook.
