Is your community looking for ways to help support entrepreneurship?

CEC program is an excellent tool for those communities that are looking to build support and capacity for entrepreneurship in their town.

Lots of exciting things are happening in 2016 as part of the Michigan State University Extension Connecting Entrepreneurial Communities program.

Our state-wide CEC Conference will be Oct. 5-6 in Port Huron. Join other like-minded community leaders as we learn new programs and resources, share best practices and ideas, empower ourselves and others to assist entrepreneurs, and grow our local communities at the annual Connecting Entrepreneurial Communities (CEC) Conference. More info will come as we finalize the program, keynote speakers and networking opportunities.

Other programming opportunities will include a “CEC Boot Camp” in Sault St. Marie in early June and several web-based video training sessions and conversations with other CEC community members around specific topics, during other times of the year. Look for updates and more details.

We encourage you to invite your colleagues, coworkers, community leaders and stakeholders. Whether you work in economic development, arts and culture, government, philanthropy, nonprofit or education, we all have a part to play in supporting local businesses and entrepreneur development in our communities.

Thank you for what you and others in your community are doing to support entrepreneurs. Michigan is fortunate to have a great state with many wonderful communities. Remember, it all starts with those entrepreneurs that are willing to invest and take a chance to grow something bigger than they are and sustainable enough to support others.
